How big is that letter? How much salt can I have?

Whether at home or on the road, having access to a scale can come in handy. Now for just $0.99, you can have your very own small item scale for your iPhone or iPod touch. Simply find something to balance your iPhone on, say a folded up business card, and follow the simple onscreen instructions. Anything from the size of a nickel to over 100 grams can be weighed.

No counterweight is needed - simple place the iPhone on your balance point to "zero" the scale, places the item to be weighed on one end, and then slide the iPhone across the balance point and touch the screen over the new balance point. BizWheigh quickly shows the weight of the object in both ounces and grams.

Use it for business, education, or just plain fun.

Cool, unexpected use of my itouch

A really innovative way to weigh small objects with your itouch or iphone. Connects to a third party postage app which is the most likely use (which I didn't try), though if you were curious about the weight of trinkets around the house was neat to play with.

Fun way to kill some time

There must be some killer math behind this: black hole keeps changing size and "gravity" changes accordingly. Trickier than it looks, but fun.

Very Smart Approach! Handy Hand Measurer

Whoever came up with this idea for measuring the weight of small articles around the house... nice job. What a thoughtful piece of software, and a smart (and novel) approach to measuring weight. I'm not a physicist, but I can appreciate the method used here. I find this app useful to measure small things around the kitchen, including small baking measurements (for example) -- I just drop a bit of plastic food wrap on my iphone (to protect it) -- and use a wine bottle cork as the leverage (a buddy of mine gave me that idea) -- and measure away. Anyway, for a handy -- always in my hand -- weight measurer, this one's clever and works well. Wouldn't suggest for critical measurements, but works great for me.
